Knowledge, Compassion and Discovery are interwoven at the University of Tennessee Veterinary Medical Center in Knoxville, the only academic veterinary medical center in the state of Tennessee. The wide variety of both complex diseases and injuries treated at the UT Veterinary Medical Center not only allows us to set the standard of care, but also exposes our students, future generations of veterinarians, to the breadth of veterinary medicine.

The most advanced diagnostics and treatments are available within the four hospitals of the UT Veterinary Medical Center comprised of the John and Ann Tickle Small Animal Hospital, the Equine Hospital, the Farm Animal Hospital, and the Avian, Exotics and Zoological Hospital.

Our team of board-certified specialists (veterinarians who have completed at least three years of specialized training in their field and who have successfully passed stringent certifying examinations), residents (veterinarians training to become specialists), interns, and licensed veterinary technicians are dedicated to working together to provide you the best possible medical care for your companion animal or farm animal.

Under the supervision of our internationally recognized experts, veterinary students become the veterinarians of tomorrow, and residents and interns learn specialty skills to advance the profession. The process of evaluating your animal's case in a teaching environment allows you to take advantage of many talented team members who study your animal's condition in detail to provide the best health care.
